Saftar Sabirovich

On April 30, 2024, Saftar Sabirovich Iskenderov passed away at the age of 69, one of the oldest employees in the oil and gas industry of our country.

Saftar Sabirovich began his career in 1977 as a Senior Engineer at the electrical laboratory of Omsk Pipeline Department. In the period from 1982 to 2003, he worked as a senior power engineer, chief power engineer, head of Karaganda Pipeline Department of KazTransOil JSC.

His whole life was devoted to the oil and gas industry. He was an Ultimate Professional. His labor biography included co-chairing the Management Group of the international project of construction of Kazakhstan-China Pipeline, including Atasu-Alashankou, Kenkiyak-Kumkol, Kenkiyak-Atyrau sections, and, after their commissioning, managing as Deputy General Director for Production of the production activities of the joint partnerships as Kazakhstan-China Pipeline LLP and NWPC Munaitas LLP, established to implement the project for design, financing, construction and operation. 

Four pumping stations of Atasu-Alashankou pipeline, Aralsk integrated emergency recovery center and Kenkiyak and Kumkol metering stations were built and put into operation with participation and under the leadership of Saftar Sabirovich. His invaluable experience in construction and operation of transportation facilities ensured the efficiency of design solutions, through personal control over compliance with design, engineering and technological discipline, technical supervision and technological monitoring of the facilities under construction, and subsequently operation and maintenance of the facilities of Kazakhstan-China Pipeline.

During his labor activity S.S. Iskenderov was repeatedly encouraged by various awards for his contribution to the development of the oil and gas industry.

          The name of this remarkable man is forever inscribed in the history of the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the memory of him will remain in the hearts of colleagues and partners.

Kazakhstan-China Pipeline LLP shares the grief of a tragic loss together with Saftar Sabirovich's family and friends and expresses its deepest condolences to them.

The bright memory of Saftar Sabirovich Iskenderov, a wonderful person, talented leader, skillful organizer, a true master of his work, who with his work brought to reality the most important international project for the country, uniting a large team, will  remain in the memory of colleagues for long time.
